Abstract

L'invention décrit un perfectionnement apporté à une batterie électrochimique rechargeable à base d'un métal alcalin et de soufre. A une telle batterie comportant au moins un espace anodique pour un anolyte, un espace cathodique pour le catholyte et un électrolyte solide conducteur des ions pour séparer ces espaces, on ajoute dans l'espace cathodique un composé chimique polaire qui, en fixant des électrons du soufre, peut lui donner une charge au moins partiellement positive. De tels éléments peuvent supporter des courants de grande intensité et se recharger plus complètement que des éléments classiques.
