Abstract

The brake block consists of a friction lining attached to the support plate. A spring clip (5) in the form of a trapezium is embedded with its broad base (6) and corners (7) in the friction material. Alternatively, the spring can be clamped between the friction material and the support plate. The ends of the spring clip protrude from the friction material. The spring loads the brake block in its guide to prevent rattling. The support plate has an area which is not covered by friction material. Support pins for the blocks pass through holes in this area. The ends of the springs are attached to the support pins.
