Abstract

Méthode de raccordement bout à bout de deux fibres optiques de même section. Un élément de couplage Il de même nature (tronçon de fibre) et de même section que les fibres optiques à raccorder est monté dans la partie centrale d'un manchon en verre 10. La partie centrale du manchon est ensuite chauffée de façon qu'elle se rétracte sur le tronçon de fibre pour le maintenir et que le manchon conserve son diamètre initial aux deux extrémités. Par ces dernières, les extrémités dénudées des fibres à raccorder sont introduites jusqu'à toucher l'élément 11 et maintenues par une substance adhésive. Deux ouvertures 12 peuvent être prevues dans le manchon de part et d'autre de l'élément de couplage pour l'évacuation de bulles d'air éventuellement créées dans l'adhésif dans la zone de couplage optique.
