Abstract

Les méthodes conformes à l'invention sont caractérisées par l'élimination du revêtement du guidage optique à l'extrémité des deux fibres à épisser ou de la fibre à terminer et le remplacement de ce revêtement par un polymère ou copolymère de carbone fluoré ou perfluoré. Deux blocs de polymère 1, 2 peuvent par exemple être serrés l'un sur l'autre autour d'un coeur de fibre optique de façon à estamper une gorge semi-cylindrique 3, 4 dans chaque bloc. Une épissure, par exemple, est ensuite réalisée en plaçant les extrémités dénudées de deux fibres bout à bout dans la gorge d'un bloc, en ajustant le second bloc sur le premier et en serrant les deux blocs par une enveloppe externe. Une terminaison peut se faire de la même façon ou par un bloc de polymère extrudé autour du coeur de la fibre dans une virole de terminaison à rubis percé
