Abstract

The re-usable printing roller has an embossed surface with the embossing pattern covered with a photosensitive lacquer. After exposure and development the required pattern is represented by opened holes in the embossing pattern, so that ink is retained in them for printing. The roller made from steel and can be re-used after each process simply by removing the hardened lacquer and recoating. No wear is experienced on the roller and high quality, economic prints are obtained.
