Abstract

L'invention décrit un procédé de carbonylation sous faible pression pour produire des acides carboxyliques. On produit un acide carboxylique, comme l'acide acétique, à partir d'un alcool hydrocarbylique tel que le méthanol dans des procédés de carbonylation en utilisant de l'oxyde de carbone, un catalyseur à base de Ni et un promoteur à base de Sn, en présence d'un iodure ou de I. Le procédé permet de produire, sans faire appel à des pressions élevées ou à des métaux nobles, des acides pouvant servir de solvants ou d'intermédiaires de synthèse.
