Abstract

The fishing rod has a striker or bite indicator which acts with the rod (11). The strker device has a body (10) on which line guides may be fixed. The line guide is movable relative to the body along the path (14) defined by the shape of the body (10). Elastic elements (19) press the guide against one end of the movement path (14). Arresting mechanisms (20, 21) releasably hold the line guide (16) in a readiness position at the other end of the path (14). On laying the line (30) into the guide and after releasing the arresting mechanism (20, 21) the line guide (16) is pushed out of the readiness position while expanding a line loop at one end of the path (14).
