Abstract

An electrical multicontact connector is used for connecting wires of electrical or electronic equipment. It is simple and robust. The connector has two plastics material strips (10, 12). Each strip (10, 12) has a set of contacts (16, 18) which mate with the contacts of the other strip. Each strip (10, 12) also has a shoulder which locates in a flat recess of the other strip. The strips (10, 12) have other recesses (20) for the contacts. One part of these other recesses (20) is used to accommodate the wire and the other part (38) has a slot to locate the contact. The two strips (10, 12) are aligned by guide pins (66, 79) and are mechanically secured by screws (62, 64).
