1354687 Electric couplings AB ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS Ltd 11 May 1971 [11 May 1970] 22587/70 Heading H2E An electrical connector for tape cables has contact teeth which are pushed along the cable conductors by the rotation of an eccentric. A tape cable 13 is clamped between housing halves 10, 11 by a pair of screws 14 and is supported by a layer of rubber 12. Teeth 26 on contacts 22 mounted in a carrier 23 are pressed into the cable by a pair of screws 15 and a spring 27. Rotation of the eccentric 32, by means of a screwdriver slot 35, moves the carrier 23 parallel to the tape to ensure good electrical contact between the teeth and their respective cable conductors. The rotation of the eccentric is limited by a stop (36, Fig. 2, not shown). To guide the longitudinal motion of the carrier in the housing, flanges on one may engage grooves in the other.
