Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de solutions aqueuses de nitrite de sodium 10 avec élimination simultanée de NO et/ou de NO2 des gaz par contact avec des solutions aqueuses basiques de nitrite de sodium introduites, avec formation ultérieure de nitrite de sodium, caractérisé en ce qu'on mélange vigoureusement un gaz contenant du NO ou un mélange gazeux contenant du NO et du NO 2 1 avec des gaz contenant de l'oxygène 5 et une solution aqueuse de nitrite de sodium contenant un hydroxyde alcalin, en faisant réagir dans la solution contenant du nitrite de sodium A moles de NO avec B moles de NO2 et C moles de O2 , dans un rapport stoechiométrique tel que l'on ait B < A et C > A-B/4. Ce procédé peut être appliqué à la réutilisation de gaz nitreux (NO/NO2 ) provenant de gaz résiduaires pour préparer du nitrite de sodium.
