Abstract

At an origin point there are disposed sources of rays with optical behaviour projecting images (1, 2, 3) of defined geometric shape, and means for imposing a cyclic scanning movement on said images; at a receiver point (P) included in the space defined by the scanning, there are provided means for receiving the signals successively formed by the images of defined geometric shape and means for their processing. The T geometric shape of said images is such as to give signals which are separated from one another in time, in such manner as to identify the position of the receiver point (P) as a function of the characteristics of the sequence of the signals received thereby during each scanning. A particular source generates an image (7) which serves as reference. The device is suitable for the remote automatic guidance of moving objects in space, such as vehicles, aircraft and missiles.
