Abstract

The motor cycle has its frame made of two half shells bolted together with the engine and gear box between them, connected between front and rear wheel suspensions. The shells can be castings of metal, alloy or plastics material. These can then incorporate strengthening ribs, and bosses for the bolts, and suitably shaped portions for direct attachment of the engine and gearbox, also the steering members. The base, which encloses the engine and gearbox, can be divided along a horizontal plane. The shells can be designed to form the petrol tank and/or the oil tank, and can also be designed to include the air filter space.
