Abstract

Upstream (1) and downstream (2) fibre optic multicore communication bundles are connected together in an interfacing box (3). Each bundle is comprised of n sub bundles (10) (20) these being directed to respective ones of n interior compartments (6) (6')... located in the box (3). Inside the individual compartments the individual fibre optics are separated (11) (21). The compartments are large enough to allow wide loops of the fibres to be formed without kinks and present themselves to the respective locations in the coupling interface (9).
