Abstract

Des balles de récolte sont successivement conformées dans la chambre d'une machine en bourrant par intermittence une charge additionnelle de matière nouvelle contre l'extrémité traînante d'une balle en cours de formation afin de pousser progressivement les balles à travers l'extrémité de déchargement de la chambre. Quand la balle atteint une dimension prédéterminée, une aiguille pivote en travers de la chambre de formation des balles en arrière de son extrémité traînante et présente une ficelle d'attachement à un noueur. Ce dernier réunit l'extrémité présentée du brin de ficelle avec une extrémité précédemment maintenue par le noueur pendant un cycle de bourrage afin de former une boucle maintenue fermement autour de la balle. Tandis que l'aiguille s'est rétractée du noueur, elle place une nouvelle longueur de ficelle en travers de la chambre de formation des balles tout prête pour la formation d'une boucle autour de la balle qui vient ensuite. C'est pendant ce retrait de l'aiguille qu'un mécanisme desserreur tire une provision de ficelle lâche non tendue. Industrie des machines de récolte.
