Abstract
The heat exchange plate is adapted for heat transfer to a stream of fluid moving in a direction parallel to and in contact with a face of the plate. It comprises a flat heat-conducting base plate; and a number of flat thin heat-conducting fins attached to and extending outwardly from the face of the base plate. The fins are arranged in a number of adjacent rows transverse to the direction of fluid flow, all of the fins in a row being parallel to the direction of fluid flow. The lateral spacing between adjacent fins in all rows is constant, each row of fins being laterally displaced in one direction from the adjacent upstream row.
