Abstract

Car bodywork comprises plastics outer panels (1-6) which extend above the base and conform locally to support surfaces which carry the elements for fixing the panels to sheet metal parts of the bodywork. The plastics panels extend between the base and the waist-line of the car bodywork. The plastics panels (2, 5) have transverse flanges rigidly connected to lateral legs and are hooked onto the sheet metal parts of the bodywork. The support surfaces are formed as channels open along the transverse flanges integral witt the plastics panels. The transverse flange integral with the panel (3) forms, with a bottom and a vertical wall, a storage container.
