Abstract

La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de préparation d'esters ayant la formule générale : R COOCH 2 R' ou R'COOCH2 R Elle est caractérisée en ce que, dans cette formule : R et R' sont des radicaux alkyles linéraires ou ramifiés, identiques ou différents, contenant de 1 à 16 atomes de carbone ou, forment entre eux, un noyau cycloaliphatique comprenant jusqu'à 7 atomes de carbone, et en ce que l'on fait réagir le monoxyde de carbone et l'hydrogène, à une température comprise entre 150 et 350 degrés C, et sous une pression comprise entre 50 et 1000 atmosphères, avec un éther de formule : ROR' ou des esters de formule : RCOOR' ou R'COOR", dans laquelle R et R' ont la signification mentionnée ci-dessus, en présence d'un système catalytique consistant en des ruthénium carbonyles et d'un promoteur consistant en l'acide iodhydrique, ou une solution dans un acide carboxylique d'iodures ou de bromures minéraux ou d'iodures ou de bromures de tétraalkyl ammonium, ou leur mélange. Elle se rapporte à de tels composés.
