Abstract

The hoe comprises blades carried on tines supported by longidutinal beams whose spacing may be varied by means of a lever. Raising or lowering of the lever causes a parallelogram linkage to be deformed against a chassis member. The lever is connected directly to an upper rod and by a link to a lower rod, so that the rods move in opposite directions when the lever is moved. Raising of the lever causes the parallelogram linkage to be broadened, and thus the hoe blades are moved apart. The upper rod is fixed to one end of the parallelogram linkage and is slidable along a fixed shaft, and the lower rod merely slides along the shaft.
