Abstract

1,008,691. Agricultural implements. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. Feb. 2, 1962 [Feb. 13, 1961], No. 40087/62. Heading AlB. A soil cultivating implement comprising at least one tined frame and a part adapted to be connected to a vehicle is characterized in that the or each tined frame is coupled to the part by one or more members which are so arranged that the or each frame is capable of performing an irregular oscillatory motion about a point disposed to the rear of the vehicle, the said motion having a component extending parallel to the direction of travel and also a component extending transverse to said direction. As shown in Fig. 2 three frames 15 are pivoted together and each includes tines 18 mounted on levers 20 which are connected by a link 22 the angular position of the tines being adjusted by a lever 24 which is formed as an extension of the rear lever 20. The central frame 15 is formed with two support arms 40 in which is mounted a frame 42 supported by beams 41. The part connected to the vehicle comprises a frame 48 which is attached to the lift linkage of the tractor 45 and includes beams 57 supported by strips 60, 61. A connecting member 80 is provided together with a chain 91 which enables the implement to be raised by means of the lift linkage. The coupling members 63 comprise resilient strips 77 which are capable of resisting tensile stress and two groups of rods 72 which are circular and made of spring steel and are formed with two inverted U-shaped bends. The coupling members may take various forms and may comprise bars 185 as shown in Fig. 27. In the embodiment shown in this Figure three frames are pivotally connected to a connecting member 190 formed with a transverse part 191. The coupling members 185 are connected to a plate 187 forming part of a member 183 connected by chains 184 to the frames. Specifications 1,008,692 and 1,008,693 are referred to.
