Abstract

Electric light bulb socket, esp. for use with bulbs used in mobile lighting arrangements as used on building sites etc. The socket is intended to provide a simple structure at low cost. The socket shell (1) of some heat resisting polyamide has an overall cylindrical form one end (2) of which is closed off. This same end has four flats (1a, b, c, d) extending approximately half the length of the socket. The opposite end is recessed (1e) to take a bayonet fitting bulb. Supply wires stripped of insulation are inserted through rectangular holes (3, 4) in the closed off face to make contact with two 'S' shaped sprung strips held in place by the socket internal geometry. These lead directly to the bulb electrode contact points.
