Abstract
A window frame (1) is built into a wall (2) over the insulated cavity (4). Treated air from a passage (8) in the wall passes through an opening (9) in the frame. From this it passes into a horizontal passage (14) within the window profile which admits it over the whole length of the window into the gap (18) between the double glazed outer pane (19) of the window and the single glazed inner pane (20). Itenters a horizontal channel (21) at the top of the window and is discharged from this into the room through outlets (23) at the top of the window. The flow of air within the window increases the surface temperature of the inner pane (20) and increases the thermal insulation of the room.
