Abstract

1. A temperature-controlled cooling or deep-freezing chamber having a volume of 50,000 m**3 or more, in which the evaporators, provided with ventilators, of the cooling aggregate are defrosted at predetermined time intervals, the ventilators being switched off, characterized by a free opening (2) provided in the limiting wall (1) of the cooling or deep-freezing chamber (3), said opening being closed by a swinging, thermally insulated, flap-like door (9) and provided with an electromechanical drive means (12 to 16) which is coupled with the control means of the defrosting process in such a way that the door (9) automatically opens at the end of the defrosting process before the ventilators of the evaporators start running again, and automatically closes again after a predetermined time period.
