Abstract

The flywheel drive unit for a shear has the driving connection to shears is diconnected after each working stroke. The drive unit ensures shorter switching times and higher switching frequencies. The drive connection between the flywheel drive (2) and the shears is achieved by two parallel connected shafts (6,7). The latter can be connected by a special clutch (4,5) for connecting with the flywheel drive (2). The switching coupling is designed for half the torque produced by the flywheel drive (2). The two shafts can be connected by clutches with one of the flywheels (12,13).
