Abstract
The insulated electrical resistance especially for heating comprises a metallic tube containing a resistive element and transverse vanes mounted on the tube. The vanes have orifices through which the tube passes. Around each orifice is an annular pad (12, 13) formed in the metal of the vanes. Each vane is a double sheet, held together by a folded edge. The pad is formed by separating two edges, and bending them in towards each other, so that they lie parallel along the surface of the the tube. This design accommodates expansion or contraction of the tube to maintain good heat exchange.
