Abstract
The pre-stressed concrete roadway slab is one of a set extending for the entire road width. Where they rest on lengthwise beams they have bores to be filled with concrete and through which transverse supporting beams are pulled, and along the transverse joins they have L-shaped recesses, also to be filled with concrete. Except for the bores (3) the slabs (2) are made solid for the full road thickness, and the transverse stressing components (9) and all the reinforcing one (7, 8) pass through the prefabricated slab, the transverse beams (4) and the bores. Recesses are formed in the underside of the slab where it rests on the lengthwise beams (1) so that it fits round their top flanges.
