Abstract

The X-ray analysis system has a source to protect X-rays through a subject and onto a dielectric plate where an electrostatic image is produced. In order to eliminate the otherwise dense background charge pattern, the plate is passed through a special corona discharge station where the dense parts of the image are modulated, while the weaker parts are retained by a suitable bias. The system reduces the amount of toner which clings to the copy sheet after processing and produces sharper copies. An electrically conducting plate (30) is mounted against the open side of a housing (25) with the central electrode wire (27) connected to a high voltage source, typically 6000V.
