Abstract

1351915 Electro-photographic printing apparatus XEROX CORP 4 July 1972 [6 July 1971] 31284/72 Heading G2H In an apparatus for producing an image of an original 26 on a photo-conductive surface 12, Fig. 1a, using X-Rays produced by a device 29 a capacitor 16 is placed between a controlling electrode 20 and a conduction substrate 14 below the surface 12. The capacitor is formed from the controlling electrode 20 and a second electrode 22 between which is located a dielectric 18. The capacitor 16 is charged prior to or during exposure from a power source 28 through switches 25, 27 and each charge lasts for about 50 exposures. The capacitor controlling electrode photoconductive surface and conductive substrate may be housed in a cassette the surface and substrate being housed in a body portion whilst the capacitor and electrode is located in a lid portion. Fig.1b shows a modified arrangement using controlling electrode 22' and capacitor 16'.
