Abstract

The stopper has a flanged cover (2) which sits on the top of the bottle neck and over the edges with a flange (5). The flange has a central rigid lease (10) and a central hole to take a pin (3) which has a head (13) at the bottom end and a dowel (9) at the top end. The pin supports a flexible bush (14), which is separated from the top seal (17), by the distance piece (15). The top seal is split outwards with a cone (18) which is in contact with the outside of the bottle. A lever (4) is connected to the pin by the dowel (9). When the lever is depressed the pin is raised and the two stoppers (14, 17) are expanded to make contact with the bottle neck.
