Abstract

The heat recuperator is for the ventilation system for e.g. a house. A cylindrical casing (7) has a cap (19, 20) fitted onto each end. The cap (19) towards the outside of the building has a tube (2) for entry of fresh air and another tube (3) for discharge of stale air. The cap (20) towards the interior has collector tubes for stale air and a discharge tube for delivering fresh air. The cylinder between the caps has a large number of concentric tubes (8, 10) through it. A set of spacers (9) is fitted between the tubes at one end arranged in every second gap, so that the spaces between the tubes are alternately blocked and open. Another set of spacers is fitted in alternate spaces at the other end so that fresh air follows a meander path between the tubes, separate from the path taken by the hot stale air. Thus incoming fresh air is warmed by heat exchange between the tubes by the stale air as it is discharged.
