Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the heat exchanging efficiency of an air conditioner and to decrease the number of component parts and the manhour required for manufacturing the air conditioner, by integrating a fan case and a Sirocco fan with each other, dividing the fan case by a partition plate and an intermediate plate having a high heat conductivity, and communicating the divided sections of the fan case to a total heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: Air in the room is drawn from an inlet port (a), and passing through a double suction type Sirocco fan 7 supported only at one end by a motor 1A, fan case 10 divided by a partition plate 11 and a total heat exchanger 5 communicated to both chambers inside the fan case 10 divided by the partition plate 11 and an intermediate plate 8, discharged to the outside from an outlet port (b). Open air, on the other hand, is drawn from an inlet port (c), and passing through the Sirocco fan 7, fan case 10 and heat exchanger 5, discharged into the room from an outlet pord (d). Since, with such an arrangement, heat exchanging between warm room air and open air is caused not only in heat exchanger 5 but also throughout the fan case 10, Sirocco fan 7, etc., the total heat exchanging efficiency is raised and the system can be constituted by a single fan case 10 and a single Sirocco fan 7.
