Abstract

A yarn doubling frame includes a number of twisting devices mounted on a frame with their axes inclined at an angle of 5 degrees - 15 degrees to the longitudinal axis of the frame. The twisting devices are supplied with yarns from supply packages mounted with their axes horizontal at the top of the frame and above the twisting devices. In passing from the supply packages to the twisting devices, the yarn is fed through a breakage detection device and a tension device. The correction yarn tension and twisting conditions are achieved to uniformly twist the yarns together. Breakages are also reduced.
