Abstract
A loud-speaker enclosure has a good response to low frequencies. It has a low resonant frequency without loss of efficiency and without degradation of impulse response. It also has zero distortion due to even harmonics. The enclosure has two coupled electrodynamic loudspeakers (A, B). They are coupled in opposition and their cones face each other. The membranes of the loudspeakers move in the same direction when excited with the same voltage. Coupling between the membranes is obtained by a lightweight porous materail or by the rigidity of the air enclosed by the membranes. The loud-speakers may be used to reproduce middle and high frequencies.
