Abstract
The furnace is for processing or drying a coated strip of material travelling continuously between two opposite gaseous cushions, both heating it and keeping it floating without contact. Plenum chambers at top and bottom discharge the gas via perforated walls parallel to the strip and on either side. A perforated sheet is inserted in the path of hot gas flowing through each chamber, regulating The flow and parallel to the perforated wall (20,201). The walls and sheets run parallel to each other for the entire furnace length in sets. The sheets can be identical for all top and bottom plenum chambers.
