Abstract

The design prevents excessive axial return movement of the hydraulic actuator and is particularly intended for the brake piston of hydraulically operated disc brakes, where excessive return travel can occur if the pads are wearing. A shoulder block (18) with ring shape moves with the actuator (14) on the forward stroke. A holding device (17,28) fixes the block at a required position for the return stroke. The shoulder ring has a flange (21) with surface (22) that connects to the actuator via a spring (24) that fits in a recess (23). A securing ring (19) acts as a support for the shoulder ring. A double securing ring can be used.
