Abstract

The angle iron with post-clamps, clamp type rail brackets and toe board supports is attached to scaffolding structures to accommodate three-rail safety barriers. The single ancessory replaces the six individual fasteners previously required. Two hinged collars with pivoting-hook to eyelet fasteners may be welded to the top and bottom zones of the angle-iron, and are used to clamp the angle-iron vertically onto a scaffolding tube post. Scaffolding tube rails (10) may be supported by half round brackets (26) which are mounted on the external faces of the angle iron (8) legs. the brackets may pivot about vertical pins (28) adjacent to the angle iron apex to accommodate variations in rail alignment and include pivoting (30) 'U' straps (31, 32) with cotters (34). The toe board supports may take the form of 'U' section pieces (35) also able to pivot about vertical axes.
