Abstract

Hypodermic syringe comprises a tubular cylindrical body which is integral with a hypodermic needle, and a plug fixed in the open end of the tubular body for retaining the substance to be injected and for forming a piston at the time of use. A protective tubular cap is mounted removably on the tubular body to protect the needle, and encloses a rubber sleeve which receives the tip of the needle and which can when detached from the tubular body be screwed by the tip into the plug in order to form a pusher during injection. The sleeve is held in position within the body against any effort to withdraw it by partially pinching the wall of the cap at certain points behind the sleeve.
