Abstract

The cleaner for rolling sieves with entrainment plates, such as those used for sorting lignite, includes scrapers (8) which engage on the underneath of the grid and support beams (9) which span the width of the sieve. At least one of these beams (9) moves transversely relative to the sieve roller (2). This beam can move to and fro beneath the roller or in one circulating direction ensuring constant cleaning of the grid. The frequency with which the cleaning apparatus is used can be adapted to the clogging effect of the material being sieved. The beam pref. moves in the conveyor direction of the sieve rollers. The beam is mounted on an endless conveyor system.
