Abstract

A threshing and cutting machine esp. for maize crops has a separator system within the main housing. The separator has a series of apertures which form twin chambers with the adjacent cutter wheels within which leaves and outer material, husk etc., may be separated from the grain. A blower fan is also mounted in this region and is positioned near the edge of the knife or cutter wheel. The fan blades project into the housing chambers to be touched by the blades of the cutter wheels.
