Abstract

1,015,063. Cutting straws &c. G. WEIHERMULLER. April 3, 1964 [June 8, 1963], No. 13927/64. Heading A4C. A mobile chaff or straw cutter comprises a drum 7 which picks up material to be cut, deflector means 11 for dividing picked-up material into two parts which are directed to two conveyers, such as worms 8, which feed the material to a disc wheel 3 rotatably mounted in a housing 2 and carrying cutter blades and ejector vanes on each of its sides, and an ejection nozzle 10 for blowing out the cut-up material. Feed rolls 9 may be arranged on both sides of the disc 3 and the blower nozzle 10 may be in two parts to separate the output of the two sets of cutters. The feed conveyers may alternatively comprise belts or prongs on rotatable drums.
