Abstract

The cushion distortion correction circuit, for a colour television receiver, has a thyristor switching circuit between earth and the coupling capacitor connected to the deflection coil circuitry. The thyristor is controlled by a circuit connected to the horizontal and vertical deflection circuits. The turn-on point of the thyristor is advanced progressively during the second part in such a way that the cushion distortion is eliminated. The coupling capacitor connects the thyristor anode to an earthed inductor whose tapping is connected to a deflection coil.
