Abstract

1339782 Converting GENERAL CORP 19 April 1971 [12 Feb 1970] 21624/71 Heading H2F [Also in Division H3] In a TV receiver, power supply to a group of circuits including the horizontal and vertical deflection circuit 20, 21 is obtained by rectification at 30 of the mains without a transformer; supply to the rest of the receiver being obtained by rectification of the secondary voltages of one or more double-wound transformers, one side of which is connected to chassis which may thus be earthed. A further double-wound transformer 19 is necessary for the coupling of synchronizing pulses between the two parts of the receiver. As shown, the EHT voltage for the cathode-ray tube 17 is obtained conventionally by rectifying the output of a high voltage secondary 28 of the flyback transformer. Supplies for the tuner, IF amplifier and detector 12, for the audio circuit 13, video amplifier 15 and synchronizing signal amplifier 18 are obtained by rectifying other tappings on the secondary winding of the line flyback transformer. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the supply for stages 12 ... 18 is obtained by rectifying the output of auxiliary secondary winding of the cathode-ray tube heater transformer 27. In Fig. 4 (not shown) a pair of synchronizing signal amplifiers, each feeding a separate synchronizing signal isolating transformer 19, are supplied from the synchronizing separating circuit.
