Abstract
The through-flow heater for the coffee maker vapourises a small amount of water to produce steam pressure to increase efficiency and to allo an even flow of water. The flow cross-sectional area tapers sharply upwards at least in the area (8) of the steam generation in the normal position of use so that the steam chamber or chambers (12) at the top have a triangular cross-section. The apex angle of this triangle is less than 90 deg. whilst the hypotenuse which forms the dividing line between the steam and water chamber is only a fraction of the maximum width of the flow cross-sectional area. Hot water leaves the outlet opening in a constant even flow with no or only a minimum excess steam.
