Abstract

Heat exchanger, e.g. radiator element for motor vehicles has a number of pipes carrying fluid in one plane. These elements are arranged at an angle max. of forty five degrees to the relative flow direction of air at the inlet. The inclined arrangement ensures a compact radiator which is not readily blocked by dust and insects which are swept along the inclined heat exchange element into a collection trough. The heat exchanger elements (1) form a zig zag pattern and connected hermetically on leading and trailing edges by walls (2, 3). The rear walls form collection troughs for dirt. Rear faces of inclined elements have also straight deflector plates (10) for air flow through the inclined element.
