Abstract

The section is for use in the fabrication of secondary opening sash windows. The resultant framed sash may be fixed onto the exterior of existing timber framed windows to effect double glazing. The main profile is of 'H' section with square internal returns on each leg end. The vertical axis of the 'H' lies in the major plane of the secondary window, with the glazing inserted in the internal channel. The plastic version of the profile may have internal channel. The plastic version of the profile may have integral sealing fillets for both glazing faces and for bedding onto the timber frame. The aluminium version is used with a separate glazing seat seal of flanged channel section, and a bedding seal which locates in a dovetailed channel.
