Abstract

The screw or nut retains a tulip shaped cap which surrounds it and carries the lock. An annular groove is cut inside the lip of the cup to retains the tongue of the lock. A support plate with a spigot fits in a groove in the edge of the lip, the spigot locating in a hole in the cup wall and hidden by a trim ring. This support plate holds the barrel of the lock in place when the lock is turned through 1/4 of a turn by the key. When in position, the lock and support plate thus form a cover on the cap, completely enclosing the wheel screw or nut.
