Abstract

Internal combustion engine electronic ignition system has unit for triggering the ignition at a defined point in time and an arrangement serving as an electric current source is capable of supplying a current of selectable magnitude and duration to the sparking plugs following the ignition triggering sequence. A circuit is provided in the system for providing repetitive ignition pulses following the ignition triggering sequence. More specif., two dissimilar transformers are provided for the current supply and ignition pulse generation purposes, and following the ignition triggering sequence a constant ignition current is developed.
