Abstract

The valve is for use in a pressure cooker having an indicator body which is compressed by a spring into a rest position, and is held in position against the force exerted by the spring and the internal pressure existing within the pressure cooker. The position of this shows the internal pressure levels operating, is constructed so that the internal pressure on the body (10, 13), is transmitted by a membrane (25) which is tensioned (26) around its circumference. The membrane (25) seals off the space occupied by the indicator body (10, 13, 14) from the cooker interior.
