Abstract

For a heart valve prosthesis, the valves flexible diaphragm is fastened in a ring, and is apertured to have flaps which open when the flow is from the grid to the diaphragm and close otherwise, when the diaphragm and flaps are driven against the grid. Pref. the diaphragm and grid are clamped, superposed, in a surrounding ring and inclined relative to its axis. The valve is partic. useful for the hearts input valves, since the pressure difference is only 10-15 mm.Hg. during filling.
