Abstract

The chimney cowl has a metal tube (3) received within the top of the chimney opening so that a heat insulating sleeve (5) around the tube rests on the upper surface of the chimney. The sleeve tapers upwardly and supports removable sheet metal wind deflectors (8) which taper upwardly and deflect wind between them, and between them and the sleeve, upwards to form a chimney updraft. There may be a heat insulting top plate assembly turning the deflected wind and chimney exhaust horizontally.
