Abstract

The vehicle braking system comprises two brake drums fixed together and rotating on a stub axle. One drum at least is supported by a circular piece secured by screws to it and to the wheel supporting rim. The circular piece (37) has a peripheral supporting flange (53) for rims, and straps (54) attached to the circular piece press the rims against the flange. The straps can have ends bent over and engaging in peripheral holes in the circular piece. A brace (55) may be provided between the two rims to hold them in position and transmit the clamping force.
